Letter Writing

To Write a Contact Letter

  1. Select Contact Search from the Contact menu to open the Search Individual/Business Contacts dialog box.

  2. Enter the search criteria and then click the Search button to open the Individual Contact Summary list.

  3. Click the contact name hypertext to open the contact record Personal tab.

  4. Click the Letter Writing button to open the Document Creation Options dialog box.

  5. Select the Write Letter hypertext to open MS Word.

  6. Type a letter to the Contact and then click the Print button if applicable.

  7. Click the Save & Close button to open the WordBinder Title and Keyword dialog box.

  8. Enter the Title and Keyword and then click the Save button to return to the Personal tab.

  9. Click the Letters tab to access the saved letter.

To Write a Contact Letter with a Template

  1. Select Contact Search from the Contact menu to open the Search Individual/Business Contacts dialog box.

  2. Enter the search criteria and then click the Search button to open the Individual Contact Summary list.

  3. Click the contact name hypertext to open the contact record Personal tab.

  4. Click the Letter Writing button to open the Document Creation Options dialog box.

  5. Select the Write with Template hypertext to open MS Word.

  6. Type a letter to the Contact and then click the Expand Merge Codes button to open the Address Option dialog box.

  7. Select the appropriate option and then click OK.

  8. Preview the letter and then click the Print button if applicable.

  9. Click the Save & Close button to open the WordBinder Title and Keyword dialog box.

  10. Enter the Title and Keyword and then click the Save button to return to the Personal tab.

  11. Click the Letters tab to access the saved letter.

To Write a Contact Letter with a Form Letter

  1. Select Contact Search from the Contact menu to open the Search Individual/Business Contacts dialog box.

  2. Enter the search criteria and then click the Search button to open the Individual Contact Summary list.

  3. Click the contact name hypertext to open the contact record Personal tab.

  4. Click the Letter Writing button to open the Document Creation Options dialog box.

  5. Select the Write with a Form Letter hypertext to open the Search Form Letters dialog box.

  6. Click OK to open the Select Letter list.

  7. Click the Letter Title hypertext to open MS Word.

  8. Type a letter to the Contact and then click the Expand Merge Codes button to open the Address Option dialog box.

  9. Select the appropriate option and then click OK.

  10. Preview the letter and then click the Print button if applicable.

  11. Click the Save & Close button to open the WordBinder Title and Keyword dialog box.

  12. Enter the Title and Keyword and then click the Save button to return to the Personal tab.

  13. Click the Letters tab to access the saved letter.

To Import a Contact Letter

  1. Select Contact Search from the Contact menu to open the Search Individual/Business Contacts dialog box.

  2. Enter the search criteria and then click the Search button to open the Individual Contact Summary list.

  3. Click the contact name hypertext to open the contact record Personal tab.

  4. Click the Import Letter button to open the Import Document dialog box.

  5. Enter the Title and Keyword and then click the Browse button to open the Choose File dialog box.

  6. Locate the file for import and then click the Open button to insert the path into the Document field.

  7. Click the Import button.

  8. Click the Letters tab to access the imported letter.
